Recent Project: New Vineland Bread

Here is one of our first ovens for 2012. This oven was built in Lompoc, California for New Vineland Bread. The hearth is four feet wide and six feet deep. The facing is finished in venetian lime plaster with hand made arts and crafts style tiles. At lower left is a chamber for wood storage and at lower right an access door to the ash drop. The doors shown are the baking doors- our standard spring hinged system, peel activated.

The oven was built by Jeremiah Church and Antoine Guelain in just about three weeks between the middle of January and early February.

Many thanks to Peter and Melissa.

  1. Beautiful oven! Could you still use automatic loaders on this oven? I'd be interested in plans if available.
